Molly & Sean :: Engagement

So a lot of things have been happening lately that I am so thankful for. This warm weather is definitely on the top of my list and it is making me so excited for the weddings and engagements I have lined up for the summer! Secondly, my sister had a baby around 7 weeks ago! His name is William and he is the most precious thing I have ever laid eyes on. He has brought a whole new perspective to my life and the life of my family. One little life just changing the hearts of everyone around! Love it! But I have some exciting blog posts surrounding that subject coming up soon, so look forward to those!

I have also been diligently working on re-branding my business. This is one of the hardest things I have done so far but I am immensely grateful for what I have discovered about myself and my photography in the process. I have been delving into my heart to find out how to best represent myself through my photography business and I can’t really grasp how rewarding and stressful that is, but I am ready to take this business to the next level.  So stay tuned for a stellar new website and blog in the next couple months.

Okay enough about all that…it’s now time to discuss how much I love the following couple. First of all, they are stinking adorable. We also went to the same high school and they were such troopers in the deathly cold wind that we experienced on the day of the shoot. Their shoot took place in their resting grounds of West Lafayette, Indiana. You can basically call them “high school sweethearts” because they have been together for as long as I can remember and that makes them that much cooler in my eyes! They are a very “real” couple and every single photo was oozing “them.” I feel so blessed to have captured this couple in intimate moments and am so thankful that they were so confident to be themselves for this shoot. Because of that…their story below is a true testament of their love.

OUR HERO’S END

So I know that I have been off the radar for a while, but it’s just so darn depressing outside that I barely leave the couch! I have been busy working on some new branding for the business and I am so so so excited to show you once it’s done! I think it will be an awesome representation of myself as an artist and there’s still a lot of work to go! So keep an eye out for that in the next coming weeks. But along with branding and a lot of couch sitting, I have decided that I want to blog a lot more. I don’t like being limited to blogging only when I have new pictures to post. This blog is like my own little digital journal and I hope to make it a habit to post tons and tons more about my life, my photography, and everything that I love about life.

So one thing that I love is my husband (obviously!) and I love how passionate he is about music. So I have left the couch a few times to go and support my husband’s band: Our Hero’s End. They’re pretty spunky if I do say so myself and are such a blast to watch. But I’ve done some random promos and have taken some live shots at any concert I can attend. Just recently I realized I haven’t posted any of them for you all to see! What was I thinking?! So here I am…blogging more and blogging about something that I love and support! So enjoy the photos and maybe do a little head banging to their music (found here: http://www.myspace.com/ourherosend ) while you look at them…it’s only fitting :)

Chilled to the bone :: Bring out the sun

For those of you who are driving on slick roads, scraping the ice of your car, and shoveling your driveway- you will understand how exciting these pictures are. Winter is not my favorite season…AT ALL! I really value the sunlight and the sun goes into hibernation during the winter season for days and weeks and months. But a couple days ago, the sun came out and it came out hard. All of the snow melted and the earth seemed to have a perky warm lively feeling to it. I was surprised at how alive all the brown trees and grass seemed to be. I couldn’t help but rejoice in that brown color with the bright blue sky, my heart immediately warmed up 50 degrees and my mood was immediately changed. Now for everyone in northern Indiana, this warm feeling is now covered in around 9 more inches of snow but those few days will stick with me until Spring. I can’t change the weather and the circumstances that surround me, but I can change my attitude and the way I spend each day. Regardless of the crappy winter days, I have such a wonderful life and I can’t take these days for granted. So for everyone who is sick of the snow, don’t let that effect your day…you don’t know how many you have left…
