Jill and Peter // Wedding at Fernwood Botanical Gardens

This wedding is a special one for me…special indeed. Jill and I went to college together, laughed together, cried together, and celebrated life together. So when I’m asked to capture one of the most important days in her life…I can’t help but laugh, cry, and celebrate all day. Jill and Peter’s amazing day took place at the beautiful Fernwood Botanical Gardens with touches of autumn all over the place and since Jill was a biology major in college, air plants and beautiful landscapes played a strong part in the day. Amazing is what that is. I can’t really even begin to express how amazing the day was as a whole. The bitter cold air didn’t effect a single spirit and the day was definitely a beautiful representation and celebration of the amazing relationship Jill and Peter have. Seriously….these two are probably the nicest and most amazing people ever :)

Man oh man am I lucky to have people like this in my life….and man oh man isn’t love the most amazing gift of all time!?

I sure think so…

And watch out people….this blog is a doozy.

Instead of doing your average 1st dance, Jill and Peter and their closest friends surprised all the guests with a flash mob. It was epic my friends. Epic.

Guests rocked The Dru Booth… they rocked it hard.

Suzi - Your best one yet! Love the one through the curly trees and the b+w right below it. Great job. SO many beautiful images.

Jamie - Those are amazing photos! I really laughed when I saw the one of Jill holding the FINALLY chalkboard. Jill you are so talented, I’m guessing that you crocheted your own shawl.
One of the most unique weddings that I have ever seen. I’m so happy for you both. Since I couldn’t be there, thanks for bringing your wedding to me with these pictures. I hope to see more pictures of your 50th wedding anniversary too!
Jamie

Hannah - These are BEAUTIFUL! Jill looks so joyful and Peter like a kid in a candy store :) The wedding definitely matches their special spirit and huge love. Sad I couldn’t make it but Ash, you did an AMAZING job, such a gift!

Suzanne - So great Ashley! What a cool wedding! Love the blanket she wore during the ceremony– the weather actually made it look very special.

On top of the world.

I had one of the most amazing weekends, I photographed the wedding of one of my best friends from college and got to spend some much needed quality time with some of the most important people in my life. I feel on top of the world.

When people ask me how business is going and how the year has shaped up, I can’t help but get emotional. I can’t believe so many people trust me to capture some of the most important moments of their lives….seriously…that is my job? How did I get so lucky?

So today on this beautiful fall day, I am so thankful. So thankful for the amazing people in my life and so thankful that God has blessed me in so many amazing ways. The pictures below are from on top of Chicago in the Willis Tower. They remind me how big the world is and how small I am in it….yet life’s moments and the relationships we have with others are HUGE…they are a BIG deal!

I hope you all can feel on top of the world today…the fact that we can love and be loved by others is such an amazing thing…how can you not feel on top of the world when you think about that?
